Uncle Roy All Around You
Uncle Roy All Around You is where the console game breaks out onto the streets; a game that pitches Online Players around the world alongside players on the real streets of the city. Street Players use handheld computers to search for Uncle Roy, using the map and incoming messages to move through the city.  Online Players cruise through a virtual map of the same area, searching for Street Players to help them find a secret destination.

Using web cams, audio and text messages players must work together. They have 60 minutes and the clock is ticking...

'...one of the most exhilarating theatrical experiences you'll encounter.  You leave feeling contemplative, thrilled and ever so slightly paranoid.'

Where do the salmon go? POST: Pacific Ocean Salmon Tracking
As the marine movements of individual salmon are poorly understood, a new research endeavor called POST, the Pacific Ocean Salmon Tracking project, offers the opportunity to make major breakthroughs in our understanding of how salmon use the ocean. Salmon face many challenges once they leave their rivers. They not only have to avoid predators and locate adequate sources of food, but they must also adapt to natural changes in the ocean and climate. Questions of where the salmon go, how they use the structure of the ocean environment to accomplish their migrations and what they experience when they reach their marine feeding grounds will be answered through the use of groundbreaking tagging technology.

Survival Guide Rules and Instructions

ConQwest is a high-stakes, team-based treasure hunt in the urban jungle. Five teams race through the city searching for treasure in the form of printed codes that can be captured by phonecam. Each code has a dollar value, and the first team to find $5,000 worth of treasure codes wins the game and earns a $5,000 scholarship for their school.
Each team will maneuver a giant, inflatable animal totem around the city to unlock the treasures in order to collect them.

The goal of the game is to be the first team to collect $5,000 worth of treasure.

The game will take place over the course of a single day, and will last approximately 2-3 hours

Pacman breaks out of the arcade
A group of Singapore-based researchers are taking Pacman out of the arcade hall of fame and setting him loose on the streets.

The virtual reality gaming system allows players to become the insatiable cookie-munching hero of the classic computer game or one of his ghostly nemeses, simply by donning a backpack and a pair of goggles.

But instead of becoming a yellow blob trapped in a low-resolution two-dimensional maze, "Human Pacman" can roam freely through real environments.

The system was designed by a team led by Dr. Adrian Cheok of the Mixed Reality Lab at the National University of Singapore, using ubiquitous computing technology

The Loneliest Mystery of the Deep
Naar aanleiding van de posting hierboven Niet de eerste wedstrijd heb ik bij Kuro5hin het volgende gevonden:

For the last 12 years, a single solitary whale whose vocalizations match no known living species has been tracked across the Northeast Pacific. Its wanderings match no known migratory patterns of any living whale species. Its vocalizations have also subtly deepened over the years, indicating that the whale is maturing and ageing. And, during the entire 12 year span that it has been tracked, it has been calling out for contact from others of its own kind.

It has received no answer. Nor will it ever.

Live Action Scotland Yard (L.A.S.Y.)
One guy named Mr. X runs around Toronto’s transit system in a bright yellow shirt, while three or more guys in red shirts try to find him using the clues he gives at every third stop he makes. The three detectives are coordinated by dispatchers who tell the detectives where they think Mr. X might be and how best to block him off. Mr.X’s dispatcher is relaying information about the detectives whereabouts and tries to keep him away from them. The game ends when a time limit has been reached or X is caught.
